'Jeopardy!' player with bad blood over botched Taylor Swift question shakes it off for redemption

Drew Goins experienced a moment of pop culture redemption on "Jeopardy!" when he successfully answered a Taylor Swift-related question, effectively washing away the embarrassment of his previous Swift-related mishap.

During a "Second Chance" competition episode, Goins recalled how he had previously failed to identify Swift's first Album of the Year Grammy-winning record, "Fearless", much to the disappointment of his Swift-loving brother. This time, when a clue about Swift's 2014 album "1989" appeared, Goins seized his opportunity.

Buzzing in first and confidently answering "What is '1989'?!", Goins was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. Host Ken Jennings dramatically declared it a moment of "Redemption for Drew!", highlighting the contestant's comeback.

Goins, who works for The Washington Post and lives in Hawaii, had his brother in the studio audience to witness his Swift-related triumph. The moment became a lighthearted celebration of pop culture knowledge and personal redemption, capturing the playful spirit that makes "Jeopardy!" a beloved game show.

Not only did Goins answer the Swift question correctly, but he also went on to win the game, continuing his journey in the "Tournament of Champions" competition.
