Anonymous Male Celebrity Files Extortion Lawsuit Against Attorney Representing Diddy Accusers

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing several alleged victims in their cases against Sean "Diddy" Combs, is facing a lawsuit of his own. An anonymous male celebrity, referred to as "John Doe," filed a lawsuit on Monday, November 18, accusing Buzbee and his firm of attempting to extort large sums of money. Doe claims that Buzbee threatened to publicly file false and damaging allegations unless he met their demands.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Buzbee's firm sought to capitalize on the “explosive allegations” surrounding Diddy by targeting other public figures connected to the rapper. These figures allegedly included those who had attended similar events as Diddy or had past associations with him.

The extortion claims come amid growing legal troubles for Diddy, who has been accused by multiple individuals of sexual assault, trafficking, and other crimes. These accusations intensified in November 2023 when Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a lawsuit claiming she was sexually assaulted during their relationship. Diddy denied the allegations, and the case was settled out of court.

According to Doe's lawsuit, Buzbee’s firm sent him a demand letter earlier this month, warning that it would unleash fabricated allegations involving “rape of a minor” unless the celebrity complied. These charges, which allegedly involve both male and female minors, are said to be entirely baseless and intended to destroy the plaintiff's reputation for financial gain.

In response, Buzbee denied the extortion allegations, calling the lawsuit "frivolous." He stated on Instagram that the lawsuit is a last-ditch effort to stop him from revealing names of alleged victims in public lawsuits. Buzbee emphasized that the demand letters sent were "standard" and meant to encourage confidential mediation rather than a public trial. He described the case against him as an attempt to intimidate and silence him, and expressed confidence that the truth would come out through full public disclosure.

Diddy’s legal team also weighed in, with attorney Erica Wolff calling the extortion lawsuit an attempt to discredit Buzbee’s efforts. Wolff accused Buzbee of using publicity stunts to extract money from celebrities who fear having false allegations made against them. She reiterated Diddy’s stance that the allegations against him are untrue and that he maintains his innocence.

Buzbee has been vocal about his representation of alleged victims of Diddy, with some of his clients accusing the music mogul of sexual assault, drugging, and threats of violence. While Diddy awaits trial, his legal team remains steadfast in their defense, stating that they have full confidence in the truth emerging during the court proceedings.
