Toyota has unveiled the sixth-generation 2025 4Runner, designed to elevate off-road adventures with its robust features and advanced technology. This latest iteration introduces two new trims: the Trailhunter, tailored for overlanding enthusiasts, and the luxury-oriented Platinum grade.
A standout enhancement is the standard 14-inch touchscreen display, providing intuitive access to the vehicle's infotainment system. Complementing this is the inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 across all trim levels, ensuring state-of-the-art safety features for every driver.
The 2025 4Runner offers a versatile lineup of trims, including SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off-Road, Limited, Trailhunter, and TRD Pro. Buyers can choose between two powertrains: the i-Force and the i-Force Max, both engineered to run efficiently on regular fuel.
For those requiring additional passenger capacity, a third-row seating option is now available on the i-Force SR5 and Limited trims. While this third row is compact, it provides flexibility for accommodating extra passengers when needed.
Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the Trailhunter and TRD Pro models, which come equipped with specialized features such as a TRD Pro aluminum front skid plate, underbody protection for the transfer case and fuel tank, Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), and Crawl Control (CRAWL) modes.
The 2025 4Runner also boasts a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds, a 1,000-pound increase from its predecessor. The roof rack is engineered to support up to 770 pounds, accommodating cargo or a rooftop tent for extended adventures.
Inside the cabin, drivers will find modern conveniences like a JBL audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital rearview mirror, five USB-C ports, and ample storage with 12 cup and bottle holders.
Manufactured in the USA, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner is priced between $42,220 and $68,350, positioning it competitively within the off-road SUV market.
Competing models include the Honda Passport TrailSport, Kia Telluride X-Pro, Subaru Outback, Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
